Which Wiser underfloor heating controller do I need? Follow
The correct Wiser controller depends on the type of underfloor heating system installed in your home. Wiser has control options for water or electric based underfloor heating. The table below will help determine which controller is required based on the heat source of the underfloor heating.
| If your system... | You will need the... |
| Uses warm water flowing through pipes connected to a boiler or heat pump | Wiser Underfloor Heating Connection Strip |
| Uses electric heating mats or cables beneath the floor | Wiser Electrical Heat Switch |
NOTE: You will need 1 room Thermostat for the control of each underfloor heating zone/room.
Wiser Underfloor Heating Connection Strip
The Wiser Underfloor Heating Connection Strip is designed for wet underfloor heating systems.
Wet underfloor heating circulates warm water through pipes beneath the floor and is typically connected to a boiler or heat pump. The connection strip controls the thermal actuators on the manifold, allowing each heating zone to be managed individually.
Choose the Wiser Underfloor Heating Connection Strip if:
- Your underfloor heating uses warm water.
- Your system has a manifold with multiple heating circuits.
- Your home is heated by a boiler or heat pump.

Wiser Electrical Heat Switch
The Wiser Electrical Heat Switch is designed for electric underfloor heating systems.
Electric underfloor heating uses heating cables or mats installed beneath the floor. To ensure safe and accurate temperature control, the Electrical Heat Switch must be connected to a compatible floor temperature sensor.
Choose the Wiser Electrical Heat Switch if:
- Your underfloor heating is electric.
- Your system uses heating mats or heating cables.
- A floor temperature sensor is installed or will be installed alongside the Electrical Heat Switch.
How to set up the Wiser Electrical Heat Switch for Underfloor Heating control
Important: A floor temperature sensor is required when using the Wiser Electrical Heat Switch. Without a connected sensor, the device cannot correctly regulate the floor temperature.
Not sure which system you have?
If you are still unsure which controller is suitable for your installation, you may wish to consult your heating installer or system documentation before purchasing.
