My floor temperature isn't being detected by the sensor when connected to the Electrical Heat Switch/UFH connection strip Follow
If your Wiser system is not displaying a floor temperature, there are several checks you can carry out to identify the cause.
The steps below apply to both the Wiser Electrical Heat Switch (EHS) and the Wiser Underfloor Heating Connection Strip (UFH Controller). The floor sensor is mandatory for electric underfloor heating controlled by an Electrical Heat Switch, but may also be used as an optional extra with a UFH Controller to monitor or limit floor temperature of one zone.
1. Check the floor sensor type
The Wiser system must be configured to use the same sensor type that is physically installed. Both underfloor heating configurations are only compatible with an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor
To check the configured sensor type on the Electrical Heat Switch:
- Open the Wiser Home app.
- Navigate to the EHS device settings.
- Locate the Floor Sensor setting.
- Confirm that the selected sensor type matches the installed sensor.
If the incorrect sensor type is selected, the floor temperature may not be displayed correctly or may be providing unexpected readings due to a scaling issue. Supported sensor ratings include 10kΩ, 12kΩ, 15kΩ, 3kΩ and 47kΩ.
On the Underfloor Heating connection strip the sensor value will be detected automatically. We would recommend using one of the following sensors to ensure compatibility:
- 33kΩ Schneider Electric Reference 616790 or MEG5775-0003
- 33kΩ Drayton Reference 193720
- 15kΩ Devi Reference 140F1091
- 10kΩ Elko Reference 5491605
2. Check that the room has a thermostat assigned
Underfloor heating rooms require a compatible temperature control device.
If a room contains only an Electrical Heat Switch or Underfloor Heating Controller without a Room Thermostat or compatible temperature sensor assigned, temperature control and reporting may not function as expected.
Verify that the room has a:
- Wiser Room Thermostat
Or - Compatible Wiser Temperature and Humidity Sensor (where supported).
3. Check the device status
Ensure that the Electrical Heat Switch or Underfloor Heating Controller is online and communicating with the Wiser Hub.
If the device is offline:
- Check that the Wiser Hub is online.
- Confirm the device has power.
- Check signal strength between the device and the Hub.
Communication issues can prevent temperature information from being reported to the app. If the controller is offline you may need to reset and re-pair the device before the Floor Temperature Sensor readings can be checked
4. Check floor temperature limits
If floor temperature limits have been configured, verify that they are set appropriately for your installation.
Incorrect limit settings may affect how the system operates and can indicate a problem with the floor sensor configuration.

If you require further assistance, please raise a ticket with our Technical Support team. To help us investigate the issue more quickly, please share the following details when raising a support ticket.
- The type of underfloor heating system you have (electric or wet).
- Whether you are using a Wiser Electrical Heat Switch or Underfloor Heating Connection Strip.
- A screenshot of the room and/or device settings.
- The floor sensor type selected in the app.
- Confirmation of whether the issue affects one room or multiple rooms.
