What happens if I remove a room in the Wiser Home app? Follow

Removing a room from the Wiser Home app does not remove the devices that were assigned to it. However, the devices will no longer belong to a room and some functionality will be unavailable until they are assigned to a new/existing room.

What happens to my devices?

When a room is removed, any devices that were assigned to that room become "Unassigned".

The devices will still appear in the Wiser Home app on the Devices page and do not need to be paired again. However, because they are no longer associated with a room, they cannot be controlled as part of a heating zone.

What happens to my schedules?

Any schedules that were configured for the room are retained and remain visible on the Schedules page.

This allows the schedule configuration to be preserved if you recreate the room or reassign the devices at a later time.

If the schedule is applied to multiple rooms the other rooms will continue to function as programmed.

Can I still control my devices?

No. Once a device becomes unassigned, a heating setpoint cannot be applied because the device is no longer associated with a room.

Until the device is assigned to a room:

  • Heating devices cannot be controlled using a room temperature setpoint.
  • Room-based schedules will not be followed.
  • Temperature adjustments made from the Home screen will not be available.
  • Power appliances cannot be activated within the app.
NOTE: Manual overrides may not work as expected whilst the device is unassigned. Devices such as the Radiator Thermostat will still respond with the relevant LEDs but no changes to the setpoint will be applied

How do I assign the device to a new room?

  1. Open the Wiser Home app.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Select Devices.
  4. Choose the unassigned device.
  5. Select Location or Room.
  6. Assign the device to an existing room or create a new room.

Once assigned, the device can be controlled normally and any applicable schedules can be used again.

Before removing a room

If you are planning to rename a room or reorganise your system, consider moving the devices to another room before deleting the existing room. This can help avoid unnecessary reconfiguration and ensure your devices remain controllable.
