I am beginning tho think I have wasted my money. Surely a manufacturer of repute could supply information indicating how to use the product. 1 Comment actions Permalink mrthomasproperties 13 December 2022 13:46 I agree, the instructions will not download and I’m completely in the dark about how Wiser works. 1 Comment actions Permalink Don Smith 13 December 2022 16:49 It is impossible to download the Wiser installation guide and the web asks if it was any use. I am waiting to install valves to control various zones but I don’t think I will bother if this is the service on offer 0 Comment actions Permalink dunxd 13 December 2022 17:56 The download from the link above worked for me just now. Perhaps they are finally fixing all the links on this website? 0 Comment actions Permalink Don Smith 13 December 2022 20:41 Yes it’s just worked for me. Thank you whoever caused this to happen. 0 Comment actions Permalink Ken.A.Edwards 15 December 2022 17:46 It might help if you could actually download the documentation 1 Comment actions Permalink Ken.A.Edwards 15 December 2022 18:25 I have now solved the download issue. This site for whatever reason does not like IDM so if using IDM turn it off. You can do this by going to Downloads/Options and unticking the browser you are using 0 Comment actions Permalink cgbeard 18 December 2023 10:19 Have to disagree D. Rejmer The Wiser tech support is ace. I've rung them and they have talked me through any issues I've had (all of my causing) The have also been very helpful with setting up my Mums systems too. If they paid for 24/7 phone support the products woudl be much more expensive or be funded via subscription neither of which I'd be keen on. 0 Comment actions Permalink Simon T 18 December 2023 12:18 I have only had a couple of contacts with Wiser telephone support and both were excellent. Mesh systems are a nuisance for 2.4Ghz devices and I had to kick Vodafone's into touch recently. My own workaround uses my TP Power line adaptors: I switch my router's WiFi off and disable the 5Ghz side of the Power line adaptors. Pairing and setting up 2.4Ghz then becomes a cinch. Restore router and power line settings and job done. A little research and patience goes a long way with these things. 0 Comment actions Permalink dunxd 19 December 2023 13:15 I don't think there is anything in the Wiser app or documentation that shows which ZigBee channel is in use. This is available through the Wiser integration for Home Assistant, and from that I have seen my Wiser hub uses ZigBee channel 24 - although I can't say whether this will the the case for your Wiser hub. ZigBee channel 24 overlaps with 2.4 GHz WiFi channel 11, so I have opted to steer clear of channel 11 and higher. In general, you should only use 2.4 GHz channels 1, 6 or 11 in the UK. Avoiding ZigBee overlaps leaves you with a choice of 1 and 6. However, I am not convinced that ZigBee channel interference with WiFi (and vice versa) is that much of a worry. Worse are cordless phones and microwave ovens or your neighbours using channels other than 1, 6 and 11, using more than 20 Hz channel widths, and turning their radio powers up to max. If you live in a big city it can be a pain to fix, since there is very little advice about how to be a good radio spectrum neighbour. 0 Comment actions Permalink Article is closed for comments.
