Why is the Wiser Home app asking for Bluetooth permission?

The Wiser Home app may request permission to use the mobile's Bluetooth connection, this is because the app supports a small number of compatible Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as the new Drayton Digistat thermostat. Bluetooth is used to allow the Wiser Home app to communicate directly with these devices when they are within range without requiring a Wiser Hub, or broadband service.

Do I need to allow Bluetooth access?

If your installation only contains Wiser Home devices, a Bluetooth connection is not required for standard operation and control. Therefore, if your phone requests the Bluetooth permission, you can safely select "Don't Allow" and continue as normal.

However, if you are using a compatible Bluetooth-enabled device, the Bluetooth permission must be enabled for the Wiser Home app in order to discover and communicate with that device. Without Bluetooth permission, app control of those devices will not be available.

Can I change this later on?

Yes. If you initially deny the Bluetooth permission and later add a compatible Bluetooth device, you can enable the Bluetooth permissions again from your phone's app settings. Alternatively, if the Bluetooth device is swapped for a Wiser Home Hub, the Bluetooth permission can be disabled when it is not needed.
