How to install Wiser - Temperature/humidity sensor. Follow

The Wiser Temperature/Humidity Sensor is an integral component of Schneider Electric's Wiser 2nd Generation smart home system, designed to monitor and manage your home's climate efficiently. This article provides an overview of its purpose, functionality, and installation process.

1. For What Purpose?

The primary function of the Wiser Temperature/Humidity Sensor is to accurately measure the ambient temperature and humidity levels within your home. By integrating this sensor into the Wiser system, homeowners can:

  • Maintain Optimal Comfort: Ensure that living spaces are kept at desired temperature and humidity levels, enhancing overall comfort.
  • Protect Home Interiors: Prevent issues such as mold growth or damage to wooden furniture by monitoring and controlling humidity levels.
  • Automate Climate Control: Trigger actions like adjusting thermostats or activating humidifiers/dehumidifiers based on real-time sensor readings.

2. How Does It Work?

The sensor operates by continuously measuring the temperature and humidity of its surroundings and transmitting this data to the Wiser Hub via Zigbee communication. Once connected:

  • Data Monitoring: Users can view real-time temperature and humidity readings through the Wiser Home app.
  • Notifications: The system can send alerts if conditions fall outside predefined thresholds, allowing for prompt corrective actions.
  • Automation Integration: The sensor can be configured to trigger automated responses, such as turning on an air conditioner when the temperature rises above a certain point or activating a dehumidifier if humidity levels become too high.

3. How to Install It?

Installing the Wiser Temperature/Humidity Sensor is straightforward and can be accomplished in a few simple steps:

  • Unpack the Sensor: Ensure all components are present and in good condition.
  • Choose an Installation Location: Select a spot away from direct sunlight, vents, or drafts to obtain accurate readings.
  • Mount the Sensor: The sensor can be mounted using the provided adhesive tape or screws. Clean the surface before applying the adhesive, or use the screws to secure the base plate, then slide the sensor onto it.
  • Pair with the Wiser Hub: Using the Wiser Home app, navigate to add a new device. Press the function key on the sensor three times within 1.5 seconds to enter pairing mode; the LED will blink orange. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the pairing process.
  • Configure Settings: Once paired, you can rename the device, assign it to a specific room, and set threshold values for temperature and humidity to receive notifications or trigger automations.

For detailed instructions and visual guidance, refer to the Wiser Temperature/Humidity Sensor - Device User Guide.

By integrating the Wiser Temperature/Humidity Sensor into your Wiser 2nd Generation system, you can enhance your home's comfort and efficiency through precise climate monitoring and automation.
