Why is my 4G router not connecting to Wiser? Follow
Currently, there are a small number of 4G routers where the Wiser HubR is unable to have a successful or stable connection with the router. We are currently investigating to find the root cause and hope to have a solution in the near future. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
At present we are aware of issues with the following routers:
Huawei -B311-98B6
Huawei B311S-220
Huawei HG635 Super Router
Huawei B818-260 4G
Huawei B535-232 4G
Huawei B311S-220

Not able to “join” the handset now I am accepted as linked to the hub
Is there a fix or work around for the 4g router problem?
Has this been fixed yet? I have a Huawei AI cube 4g router that won’t stay connected to the wiser hub. I did find a work around which involved removing the WiFi password. The hub then connected to the router no problem but obviously this means anyone can get onto your network. I set up the guest WiFi without setting a password so that no one can see any of the devices on my network.
Can somebody else try this and see if it works for them. I’m not sure if this is the same problem that this article refers to.
@Steven Peck, I like the sound of guest network workaround, but I totally agree it is not ideal seeing as anybody could connect to the network.
I have the Huawei 5G CPE Pro router with a Vodafone 5G sim in it and tried your workaround and it seems to be working fine now. Not ideal having to have an unsecured guest network permanently on but I guess that gets it working.
I have a TP-Link MR600 router that I have connected with a separate sim in it and the Wiser Hub connects to that one no problem. I think the issue is specific to Huawei routers. The problem I had with the TP-Link router was the speeds is slower and the wifi range is not as good as the 5G CPE Pro router.
I am not able to switch on a Guest network without a password and the HUB doesnt seem to connect at all. I have a Huawei 5g router from vodafone. Is there any settings I can switch to get this working ?
Hi, I have the same issue but currently connecting the hub to my wifi extender to get around this. Not great but a quick get around.
I have a BT route with a fibre to house connection. It runs at 120 mps. The problem is when I am on a 5g channel it won’t connect to the supplied wiser router. The call centre for wiser told me that if I use a 2.4 g net work it would be ok this they said was because it needed updating. I did this and it connected right away but my speed has dropped to 10 - 20 mps
Is there a fix for this ? I just installed today and feel this may be the issue i am facing
I have set my router to 2.4GHz and have followed all the insructions. I have got as far as the hub is connected but I cannot get the room thermostat to connect to the hub (identifying device). All I get is a flashing !.
This has been an issue for way over a year, there must be a simple fix from Draytons end surely?
More and more homes are now ditching landlines with fixed broadband and opting for 4G/5G sim routers so it must be quite a big issue?
I used this in my old place on fixed broadband and it was great!
Any help would be very much appriciated.
I got the hub connected to wifi and then app let me discover devices, resetting room stat by removing battery then reinserting while holding + & - set room stat discovering, do this close to heat hub
currently got mine all running via mobile phone hotspot due to the 4g issue
Last night’s reading i found the setup network for heat hub is 192.168.8.xxx the same as my HUAWEI router network so i changed the HUAWEI dhcp to a different range (192.168.18.xxx) and things now appear to be working as i can access wiser home app from mobile phone over 4g so 🤞
I gave up yesterday but have persevered this morning. No luck with resetting the thermostat and haven't changed the dhcp but................I'm all up and running!!!
All I did was name the thermostat in the app, in my case 'home'. It all clicked from there. I can use the app away from home and set the scheduals etc.
It shouldn't be this difficult!!!
Very happy now :)
